Vieux Carré

This New Orleans classic is one of my favorite night caps and it will soon be one of yours as well.

Fun Fact: Vieux Carré means “Old Square” which was the old term for the French Quarter in NOLA.



ingredients:

  • ¾ oz | 22.5 ml Rye

  • ¾ oz | 22.5 ml Cognac

  • ¾ oz | 22.5 ml Sweet Vermouth

  • 1 Barspoon Benedictine Liqueur

  • 2 Dashes Peychaud’s Bitters

  • 2 Dashes Angostura Bitters

  • Lemon Peel Garnish

instructions:

Combine all ingredients except garnish in a mixing glass with ice.  Stir, strain and pour the cocktail in a rocks glass with ice and garnish with a lemon twist.  Serve and enjoy!
