Orange Sweeney

Hey folks! I’ve teamed up with Kirk & Sweeney to give you my take on a [boozy] childhood favorite (recipe below)! Inspired by the flavor combo of oranges and cream - the 12 year old Kirk & Sweeney rum’s bold notes of caramel and and sweet vanilla is just KILLER in this cocktail.  Oh and you’re probably going to want to make more than one!

tools:

ingredients:

  • 1½ oz | 45 ml 12 Year Dominican Rum

  • 1 oz | 30 ml Dry Curacao

  • ½ oz | 15 ml Heavy Cream

  • ½ oz | 15 ml Demerara Simple Syrup

  • ½ oz | 15 ml Fresh Orange Juice

  • ¼ oz | 7.5 ml Fresh Lemon Juice

  • 5 Drops Orange/Fig Bitters

  • Fresh Grated Nutmeg

  • Fresh Grated Orange Zest

instructions:

Combine all ingredients in a shaking tin with ice. Shake vigorously for 10 seconds. Pour and strain over a large tulip filled to the brim with crushed ice. Garnish with fresh grated nutmeg and orange zest, finish with a dehydrated orange wheel. Serve and enjoy!
