New York Sour

This late 1800’s classic combines a traditional whiskey sour but adds a red wine floater. It’s as beautiful as it is delicious and its a great gateway to wine drinkers who “hate” bourbon. Give this one a shot!

ingredients:

  • 1½ oz | 45 ml Bourbon

  • ¾ oz | 22.5 ml Demerara Simple Syrup

  • ¾ oz | 22.5 ml Fresh Lemon Juice

  • ¼ oz | 7.5 ml Malbec

  • Dehydrated Lemon Wheel

instructions:

Combine all ingredients except wine in a shaking tin with ice. Shake vigorously for 10 seconds. Pour and strain over rocks glass filled with a large cube of ice. Slowly pour the Malbec the cocktail using a bar spoon. This method slows the pour enough to let the wine settle to the top of the cocktail. Garnish with dehydrated lemon wheel. Serve and enjoy!
