Amaro sours should be the OFFICIAL after-dinner drink of 2025.
Yeah you heard me, if you’re a fan of Amari, you’re going to love using it as the base spirit. Its the perfect balance of sweet, sour and bitter. Bonus points that it’s a digestivo and it’s the perfect cocktail to have after dinner.
Let me know what other amaro base cocktails you’re making in the comments.
Cheers y’all.
My apologies to the entire country of Italy 🙈
I mean… It works for the Old Fashioned right? Muddling oranges and cherries into a Negroni over crushed ice actually wonderful. I would 100% make this again and maybe add some saline or olive brine next time. Sorry Wisconsinites - no Brandy or Sprite in this recipe ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Cheers y’all.

I don’t think I know of any other classic cocktail thats so heavily disputed by an entire region. I’ve been drinking old fashioned’s for a while now and always have preferred them… the old fashioned way (ps. This is how the drink got its name - spirit, bitters, sugar + water). Wisconsinites will always slide into the comments section asking where the muddled orange and cherries are, so today we’re going to try it out.
Have you revisited this lately, what are your thoughts?
Thanks to @highproofpreacher for the new HPP challenge coin 🥃
Let's be honest... luxardousa maraschino cherries are like the icing on a bourbon cocktail cake 🍒🍸

Read MoreAnother @holycityhandcraft original coming at ya! Playing with a couple different flavors here, I’ve always been a big fan of medium-roast, fruitier coffees since they tend to taste like dark cherries and chocolate. So why not make a cocktail based on those flavor profiles, right?

This may or may not be an #aprilfools joke but this is a great recipe for a BATCHED Old Fashioned. Just mix the ingredients below with ice and strain into a serving vessel of your choice. If you’re serving for a later date, add 4 oz of filtered water and throw that bottle/container in the fridge or freezer until you’re ready to serve. Serve over a large ice cube and garnish with an orange twist and maraschino cherry (optional).
Disclaimer: Please drink responsibly and don’t try to drink this entire thing by yourself in one sitting.
Happy Thanksgiving! Why not celebrate with a little Turkey from the OG himself, #jimmyrussell. Here’s a quick and easy @wildturkey 101 Old Fashioned to get you through the day 😉
Side note: I’m breaking in the home bar with this first photo, I’m obsessed with the lighting in here. It’s perfect considering this will double as a studio as well.

🎅🏻🎄 Its the holiday season and that means I get to come up with THREE craft cocktail recipes for our Christmas party this weekend! Allow me to introduce the first one, if you like mint-chocolate and Old Fashioned cocktails then this is the recipe for you! PS. Huge thanks to @jimbeamofficial for partnering up with me this year!
Read MoreOk, so I’ll admit I was a big btparsons fan before, but I had the honor of taking his Amaro class at BenConCHS and was completely blown away. Luckily, Charleston, SC was a stop on his ‘Amaro’ book tour and I had the opportunity to pick his brain (again) at @edmundsoast while he was in town. He was knowledgeable, down-to-earth and one of the coolest authors I’ve had the honor of meeting. This cocktail recipe is a from his book ‘Amaro’ — definitely worth the pickup, even if its not personally signed like my copy 😉
Read MoreHere’s another twist on an Amaro cocktail from btparsons book, “Amaro” named the ‘Toronto’ — I’ll admit I’m not the most avid fan of Canadian whiskies, but you’ll be surprised what a touch of black walnut bitters, Fernet and demerara will do a cocktail.
