Banana Nut Negroni

Why is this the most important ingredient in a cocktail? #ad21+

You guys know how much of an ice nerd I am (hello #cleariceweek), so together with my friends over at luxieusa we’re going to show you how to elevate your cocktail game by simply using a clear ice sphere. Believe it or not, ice is arguably one of the most important ingredients in a cocktail, so what’s the big deal about clear ice?

Smoked Salt Negroni

The holidays always remind of the fall/winter flavors and spices that go into everything we eat and imbibe during the season. I recently #partnered up with 1792 bourbon to create a custom cocktail that will tie in all these flavors into a simple cocktail… Can you keep a secret? It has to do with the spiced panela syrup. Infused with flavors that remind me of fall and winter, it ties in well with 1792 Bourbon due to the bourbon’s high-rye content and spice-rich notes, alongside vanilla and caramel. Check out the recipe below and let me know what cocktail reminds you of the holidays! #1792 and #1792Bourbon

The Shaman

Next up on the #NegroniWeek tour of Charleston with our #partners campariusa and imbibe is one of my favorite places in the city... @gin_joint!
.
Their Negroni variant called 'The Shaman' figuratively and literally required them to PLAY WITH FIRE 🔥and left the bar patrons ooh-ing and ahh-ing at the process. Mixologist @james_b0lt used a table-top siphon (typically used for coffee) to heat the Campari enough to siphon into the upper chamber filled with a "Tropical Teapot" of various citrus and spices (ingredients below). The resulting infusion was then mixed with a floral vermouth, barrel aged gin and black lemon bitters, making for not only one of the most unique Negronis we've ever seen or tasted, but an amazing visual experience as well. Needless to say, multiple 'Shaman' Negronis were ordered that night.
.
To top all of this off, the friendly folks at @gin_joint are supporting @lcfoodbank this week.

Louisville is for Makers (Smoked Salt Boulevardier)

Did you know there are only three places in the US where you can try my cocktails at actual bar? Two of them are in Charleston but one is actually at claytonandcrume’s speakeasy in Louisville, KY. Last year I had the opportunity to help craft the menu for their inaugural opening right before the Kentucky Derby. This was one of those recipes.

It’s an easy one and one of my go-to cocktails to make at home.

Enzoni

A summer Negroni? This is the Enzoni 🍇

This cocktail was created in the early 2000s and way ahead of its time. Back in those days I was crushing Keystone Lights and Kentucky Gentleman + Diet Cokes… because college. This cocktail is so far removed from that, I think it would be like if a Negroni was a summer drink, this would be the recipe. Make sure to give this one a try, it’s fruity, sweet, bitter and sour. So, so good.

Cheers y’all.

Negroni Sbagliato

The Negroni Sbagliato - now there’s a drink fit for a 🐉 Queen…

What can I say, this cocktail is having its moment in the sun thanks to the @livkatecooke (Alicent Hightower) and emmaziadarcy (Rhaenyra Targaryen) interview for @hbomax and @gameofthrones.

This drink may be going ‘viral’ at the moment but this recipe has been around since 1972 and was created at Bar Basso in Milan by Mirko Stocchetto. I’m not mad about it though, I always said this was my go-to brunch drink and I’d take it over any mimosa any day of the week. Cheers y’all!

Coffee Infused Kingston Negroni

Coffee + Jamaican Rum + #NegroniWeek seems like a winning combo, right?

I’ve been wanting to use this pour over stand from Farmhouse Pottery for a cocktail and just haven’t found the right occasion for it…. UNTIL NOW. If you haven’t had the combo of coffee + Campari, it's a match made in heaven so you gotta try this one out.

#ProTip : if you find this a little too bitter for your taste, add a pinch of salt and thank me later! Cheers y’all.

The Boule-Bird

TIKI-inspired Boulevardier? Yep.

Together with coopercraft, my good buddy Jordan aka @highproofpreacher and myself have teamed up to create two takes on a Boulevardier. Both recipes will be using similar ingredients in pineapple and sherry but they will be vastly different in flavor and texture but very similar in that they’re both absolutely delicious.

This is my take on a tiki-inspired cross between a Boulevardier and a Jungle Bird. This recipe is both SHAKEN and STIRRED. The initial base is a Boulevardier-riff that combines Oloroso sherry and the 100-proof coopercraft Barrel Reserve to provide something familiar but not overly sweet to compliment the topping (think Garibaldi). This orgeat, salted-pineapple foam is literally the icing on the cake. This topping is shaken to showcase the pineapple’s natural ability to foam when aerated (shaken) providing for light and fluffy top and a strong, complementary base to match. You NEED to make this recipe this week and make sure to head on over to @highproofpreacher to check out his coffee/pineapple riff!

Strawberry Amazing

Cue the slow jams, you’ll be wanting to make this #ValentinesDay inspired Negroni-riff TONIGHT.

The strawberry infused Campari brings that strawberry flavor to the party and complements the fruity notes of this smooth Reposado. Combined with Creme de Cacao and a touch of sea salt, this cocktail provides you a salted, dark chocolate-covered strawberry…. in a glass. Your partner will thank you… you’re welcome <3
