5 Amaro Recipes You Need To Try This Week

WEEKLY COCKTAIL ROUNDUP: Amaro Recipes!

Looking for a quick pick-me-up to kick off this week?

ingredients:

  • 1½ oz | 45 ml Irish Whiskey

  • ¾ oz | 22.5 ml Creme de Cacao

  • ¾ oz | 22.5 ml Fernet Mente

  • ½ oz | 15 ml Coffee Liqueur

  • ½ oz | 15 ml Heavy Cream

  • 1 Pinch Smoked Salt

  • 4 Drops Coffee Bitters

  • Mint Sprig (Garnish)

  • Espresso Grounds (Garnish)

inStRUCTIONs:

Combine all ingredients except the garnish in a shaking tin with ice. Shake vigorously and double strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with finely ground espresso (optional) and a mint sprig.

ingredients:

  • 2 oz | 60 ml American Whiskey

  • 1 oz | 30 ml Dry Curaçao

  • 3/4 oz Braulio Amaro

  • 4 Dashes Orange Bitters

  • Flamed orange twist

  • Dehydrated blood orange wheel

    inStRUCTIONs:

Combine Bourbon, Dry Curaçao, Amaro and Bitters in a shaking tin.  Shake for 5 seconds.  Strain and pour into a chilled coupe.  Garnish with a flamed orange twist and a blood orange wheel.




Finally revisiting Jäger… in Margarita form!

This would be a good time as any to make the Jägerita since its been making the rounds on the interwebs.

ingredients:

  • 1½ oz | 45 ml Jägermeister

  • ¾ oz | 22.5 ml Cointreau

  • ¾ oz | 22.5 ml Lime Juice

  • ¾ oz | 22.5 ml Simple Syrup

  • 1 Pinch Salt

    inStRUCTIONs:

Shake and strain over ice in a salt rimmed rocks glass.




This shot was captured using a classic cocktail recipe I recreated for the folks over at @no3gin.

  • 2 oz | 60 ml Gin

  • 1½ oz | 45 ml Sweet Vermouth

  • 1 Barspoon Fernet Branca

  • 1 Spritz of Orange Bitters (optional)

  • Orange Twist

instructions:

Combine all ingredients except orange bitters and twist in a mixing glass with ice. Stir, strain and pour the cocktail in a chilled coupe. Express the orange peel, spritz with bitters (optional) Serve and enjoy!




New recipe, who dis?

This might be one of the best original cocktails recipes I’ve made in a while. It’s perfectly balanced. While the cocktail itself can hold its own, you’ll want to make that foam for that extra layer of flavor and texture. Trust me, it’s worth it!

ingredients:

  • 1½ oz | 45 ml Rye

  • 1 oz | 30 ml Amaro

  • ½ oz | 15 ml Coconut Palm Simple

  • ¼ oz | 7.5 ml Faretti Biscotti Liqueur

  • 4 Drops Pecan/Magnolia Crudebitters

  • Coffee Foam (Instructions Below)

    instructions:

Combine ingredients except foam in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake, double strain, pour into a rocks glass with ice. Top with foam. Serve and enjoy.

COFFEE FOAM

2 Egg Whites

1½ oz | 45 ml Coconut Palm Simple

1½ oz | 45 ml Coffee Liqueur

¾ oz | 22.5 ml Lemon Juice

4 Drops Black Walnut Bitters

4 Drops Smoke + Salt Crudebitters

Combine all ingredients into a whip cream canister - load with 2 cartridges of N2O. Shake and let settle for 5 minutes before use.
