The Winter Coat

Bundle up, and grab your winter coat.

#ad Together with my friends at licor43usa, I’ve created a cocktail thats perfect for the season. It’s inspired by a creme brûlée and it just so happens that #Licor43 makes a `Creme Brûlée’ flavor as part of their indulgence trio lineup (other flavors include Horchata and Chocolate). This cocktail combines winter spices with bourbon and is then topped with caramelized sugar sitting atop an egg white foam.

Cheers y’all.

The Strangest Thing

What better way to combine two things I love (craft cocktails and strangerthingstv) than the #StrangerThingsAB cocktail contest held by my dudes apartment_bartender and @keifermadness. Inspiration comes from THE UPSIDE DOWN and a bit of that fall flavor all is basic girls love 💁🏻
.
Cheers y’all, make sure to tune into Season 2 of Stranger Things on netflix TOMORROW!

The Springteen

TIKI-inspired Boulevardier? Yep.

Together with coopercraft, my good buddy Jordan aka highproofpreacher and myself have teamed up to create two takes on a Boulevardier. Both recipes will be using similar ingredients in pineapple and sherry but they will be vastly different in flavor and texture but very similar in that they’re both absolutely delicious.

This is my take on a tiki-inspired cross between a Boulevardier and a Jungle Bird. This recipe is both SHAKEN and STIRRED. The initial base is a Boulevardier-riff that combines Oloroso sherry and the 100-proof coopercraft Barrel Reserve to provide something familiar but not overly sweet to compliment the topping (think Garibaldi). This orgeat, salted-pineapple foam is literally the icing on the cake. This topping is shaken to showcase the pineapple’s natural ability to foam when aerated (shaken) providing for light and fluffy top and a strong, complementary base to match. You NEED to make this recipe this week and make sure to head on over to highproofpreacher to check out his coffee/pineapple riff!

The Egg Cream Fizz

I’ve put together a twist on a traditional Egg Cream. Never heard of one? Well, it it originated among Eastern European Jewish immigrants in New York City. It usually consists of cream, chocolate syrup and seltzer/soda water. Thats right… it contains NO EGGS... until now. I’ve combined this classic with a similar technique to a Ramos gin fizz and the results were pretty epic. See the recipe below.

The Bee Cause

You know I love a good collaboration - especially when it involves saving the bees. The @savannahbeeco recently partnered up with @dixievodka to produce “Dixie Wildflower Honey Vodka” using SBC’s wildflower honey. They’ve challenged me to come up with a recipe to incorporate this new product and to celebrate the launch of the new product in Charleston!
.
A portion of the proceeds for each bottle sold will benefit The Bee Cause Project which works to support the health of honeybees in the Southeast by increasing the number of hives in the region and helping to educate the public on their importance. Now get out there and support the cause!

Bantha Milk Fizz

A long time ago... In a city far, far away, a six year old boy watched his first @starwars film and was instantly hooked just like many of those before him.

I grew up watching these films over and over again and waited in line for the midnight showing of the prequels and the new series. I collected the toys, wore the shirts, etc. Since tonight is the official release of #TheRiseofSkywalker - I figured I’d honor my favorite series of all time with a boozy take on that subtle beverage with the cult following — BLUE MILK.

Veruca

Pisco is such an underrated spirit. Usually produced in Peru or Chile, its distilled from fermented grapes (about 16lbs per 750ml bottle, in fact). @barsolpisco in particular is produced using Torontel grapes and has floral notes of jasmine and magnolia -- perfect for this recipe!

Wintered Amaro Sour

Let’s keep those seasonal cocktails going, shall we?

Together with amarolucano1894, I’ve created a recipe thats sure to warm you right up in the coldest of nights. The recipe combines bourbon, cinnamon syrup, lemon juice and the bold flavors in Amaro Lucano to create a wonderfully balanced flavor that is softened by an egg white (or aquafaba) foam. This one was a treat to make and drink and hope you’ll do the same. Cheers y’all.

The Salted Peanut Butter Fizz

Fall is officially here, so how does a peanut butter, banana, hazelnut, coffee and chocolate cocktail sound to you?

Well, you’re in luck. I’ve teamed up with screwballwhiskey to create a cocktail thats somewhere between a chocolate egg cream and a bourbon fizz. The secret is in the banana, hazelnut-infused cold brew amaro created by my talented friend @schenzelwashington. Its constructed by steeping coffee grounds with banana liqueur, hazelnut extract and amaro for 6-12 hours then fine straining into a vessel of your choice. I can’t think of a more perfect accompaniment to the flavors in peanut butter.
