Enzita
Have you ever made fizzy grapes? 🍇🫧
#ad21+ Together with my friends at @Codigo1530 Tequila I made a recipe that I’m calling the Enzita - and it’s perfect for Cinco de Mayo!
It’s called the Enzita because it’s a cross between a tequila-based Rosita and borrows elements from the Italian-inspired Enzoni which involves muddling sweet green grapes into a sour-type cocktail.
Both cocktails have a bitter sweet citrus element to complement the grape so I figured it would be a perfect match with Codigo Rosa, where they take their Blanco and rest it for one month in uncharred French white oak barrels that previously housed a Napa valley Cabernet, which gives a fruity, floral and wine-forward aroma.
I also thought it would be fun to force carbonate it since the bubbles really bring out those fruity, floral wine aromas that really open up the cocktail here. All in all, it turned out amazing, especially with the fizzy grape garnish.
Cheers y’all!
NOTE: you can’t just do this in any old soda machine so check to make sure your manufacturer’s instruction manual to see if its capable of sweetened carbonated beverages and/or has a slow pressure release valve.
Beericano (Non-Alcoholic)
I believe so!
Had to give this one a try. This recipe went viral late last year thanks to @_thirstywhale, and since a lot of y’all are doing #DryJanuary, it felt like the right time to make a non-alcoholic version. I’ve been on the hunt for a solid NA Campari and sweet vermouth alternative for a while now, and I think I finally found it with Giffard Sirop Aperitif. It hits that balance of bitterness and sweetness that makes this drink work.I’ll be playing around with a Negroni and Boulevardier (NA) next, but let me know what else you’d like to see.Pro tip: You can also make this low-ABV by using Campari and your favorite sweet vermouth, then topping with an NA beer.Cheers, y’all!
Season’s Greetings
#ad21+ Listen, if you're planning on giving someone a bottle of bourbon this season, you need to save this recipe.
Together with my friends at @BasilHayden, we're going to make a festive bourbon cocktail called Season's Greetings, which would make for perfect recipe to go along with your gift. The spice notes in the amaro and the pear liqueur in this cocktail play perfectly with the baking spice notes in #BasilHayden and I guarantee you'll be making this one all holiday season.
Comment "PEAR" and I'll send you this recipe in the form of a recipe card that you can save, print out to include with your gift or send to a friend. Whether you're gifting or shopping bourbon this season, make sure to keep a look out for Basil Hayden -- its #TheOneWithTheBelt #BasilHaydenPartner
Cheers y'all.
Green Flag
Don’t ask me about my red flags 🚩 but lemme tell you about my green flags this summer 🟩
We’re going to make this vibrant and refreshing Green Flag cocktail while I tell you all about my cocktail green flags this summer. These are things I look for whenever I’m drinking or making a cocktail of my own and just figured it was fitting to make this cocktail too! It’s got tropical notes of passionfruit and melon and makes for a great summer sipper.
My cocktail green flags this summer:
Using fresh juice.
Using crystal clear ice.
A fun/funky garnish.
What are yours??
Cheers y’all!
Rosemary Spritz
Are you in the mood for a refreshing and flavorful cocktail? Look no further than the Rosemary Spritz! This delightful drink combines the aromatic essence of rosemary with crisp and sparkling ingredients for a truly invigorating experience. Stay tuned for the full recipe and enjoy a sip of pure bliss with each glass. 🌿🍹
Oolong Island Negroni
Up next on Charleston's tour of #NegroniWeek with campari_southcarolina is my buddy Jimmy Chmielewski (jimmy_withthe_goodhair) at @thearcher with his take on a recipe thats a Negroni that drinks like a spritz, check it out below. "We really wanted to showcase some of the less conventional ingredients or techniques that we're utilizing at The Archer. The coconut and milk oolong tea really give the Campari a sort of bitter fruit loop flavor and a much more velvety mouthful. We also stand by the belief that most things are better carbonated and a negroni is no different. The force carbonation makes a boozy sipper feel like a light and fizzy Spritz. In terms of the thought process of the ingredients, toasted coconut screams tiki, so we really wanted to lean into that flavor profile (hence, banana and rum) without getting too far away from what a negroni truly tastes "
The Vaporetto
This Venetian twist on a Bicicletta - The Vaporetto 🚤
It’s #spritzszn so today we’re making some with my friends at bonterra. Unlike a Bicicletta, this one will use a base of Bonterra’s Rosé, which uses 100% certified organic grapes that give this wine a dry, crisp but fruity palate with an acidic finish. The addition of Cappelletti enhances the grapefruit notes in this wine and is accentuated by the hint of Meyer lemon in the soda water.
It’s light, refreshing and very crushable.
Cheers y’all!
Hiro High Ball
It’s all in the details…
Big thanks to my friends at holycitystrawcompany for making these custom holycityhandcraft bamboo straws, perfect for Collins cocktails (they make shorter ones too!). Did you know bamboo straws are more sustainable than paper? Well now you do…
Anyway, figured the bamboo straws are a perfect accompaniment to this single malt highball recipe! Check it out below.
Charred Orange Ranch Water
I’m over here swiping ingredients from other creators 😬
Since I wrapped earlier this morning I figured I’d make an easy ranch water sourced from one of their ingredients and of course Chantelle (she_thebartender) was generous enough (she’s from Utah - makes total sense) to lend me her charred orange from her Cinnamon Charred Orange Margarita (coming soon!). In the meantime, check out this easy Ranch Water recipe for your next pool party.
Cheers y’all.
The Egg Cream Fizz
I’ve put together a twist on a traditional Egg Cream. Never heard of one? Well, it it originated among Eastern European Jewish immigrants in New York City. It usually consists of cream, chocolate syrup and seltzer/soda water. Thats right… it contains NO EGGS... until now. I’ve combined this classic with a similar technique to a Ramos gin fizz and the results were pretty epic. See the recipe below.
Pink Linen
Who needs a white linen when you can make it pink?
Together with my friends over at empress1908gin, we put together a spin on a traditional White Linen with Empress Elderflower Rose Gin. Elderflower and cucumber have always been a match made in heaven and the addition in this cocktail is no exception. Hope y’all enjoy this one!
Spiced Apple Spritz
Good morning Charleston! Check me out on lowcountrylive on abcnews4 this morning. I’ll be making a couple of holiday cocktails including this Spiced Apple Spritz made with stripedpigdistillery Spiced Rum… its Thanksgiving in a cup. Check out the recipe on http://holycityhandcraft.com (Link in bio)
The Marion Spritz
Yes I know it feels like 🔥 in Charleston this summer so I made y’all a recipe to help you cool down. It is Spritz season after all 😉
The Kale Whale
Happy #SundayFunday -- I feel like ‘healthy’ and ‘cocktails’ are oxymorons but a couple months ago, the ladies over at thekalewhale inspired me to make another cocktail using onelovekombucha’s Hibiscus Ginger Kombucha. Check out the recipe below!
The Bianco Venetian Spritz
Ooooh… stunninnnnnn….
If you’ve never put olives in your Spritz, you’re missing out. I want to show y’all the versatility of luxardousa’s Bitter Bianco by using it in classic, aperitivo-forward cocktails such as a traditional spritz. Since the Bitter Bianco is crystal clear and free from artificial dyes/colors, it provides for a gorgeous and unique experience that you and your guests are sure to enjoy. If you’ve never had a Bianco Venetian Spritz, its has notes of bitter citrus and a bright/fruity finish, try this one out!
Butterfly Tea and T
🌈✨ It ain’t magic until you drink it…
By now you are already familiar with the magical attributes of the Butterfly Pea Flower. While generally tasteless, the flowers are dried and made into tea. When brewed, turn into a dark blue hue - turns out letting it steep in room temperature gin does the same thing. The cool part about it is that anything acidic turns the liquid’s hue from a deep blue into a bright pink-ish purple.
I had a lot of fun playing around with this one - feel free to get creative and try it for yourself!
The Old Cuban
Recently had a chance to check out the gorgeous victorsocialclub and try their Cuban-inspired cocktail menu. They also were kind enough to provide their cocktail recipe for the Old Cuban!
