Clarified New York Sour
Let me make this clearā¦
Iāve clarified one of my favorite cocktails, The New York Sour. Traditionally made with bourbon, lemon juice, simple syrup then topped with red wine. In this case, Iām clarifying this cocktail using the milk punch technique where we use the acid in lemon juice to bind with the milk solids to produce a crystal clear, delicate and delicious whiskey sour. Today Iām using Bonterraās Pinot Noir to compliment due to its rich and bold notes that is the perfect floater for this cocktail.
Cheers yāall!
Bruleeād Banana Boulevardier
Ew, a caramelized bananaā -
No one ever This recipe combined the traditional elements of a classic Boulevardier but enhanced it with caramelized banana, which pairs amazingly well with Amontillado sherry in lieu of vermouth. This was one of my favorite cocktails last year, definitely make this one!
Lakeside Maple Sour
For my toast, I recently had a stay at a lake house surrounded by large, beautiful maple trees that inspired this recipe. Cheers yāall.
The Trackside Creamsicle
Bourbon + Creamsicles is a match made in heaven...
I couldnāt think of anything to welcome the fall season more than this recipe below featuring Buffalo Trace bourbon and cream, sweetened with a āburntā sugar syrup that introduces a deep caramel flavor profile and topped with fresh grated nutmeg to round it all out.
The Fig in a Blanket
I was inspired to make something that would highlight the bourbon while maintaining a fruity and spicy flavor profile that pairs beautifully with the 10 year old spirit. What better way than with this fresh fig/peppercorn syrup I made earlier this week. Check out the cocktail recipe (including the syrup) below, if you end up making it, let me know what you think
Vanderhorst
Feeling inspired after reading up on some Amari via btparsons book entitled "Amaro". Check out the recipe below for a rich, yet complex cocktail for any occasion.
Gold Rush Sour
āThis classic bourbon porch pounder, turned elegant sour is sure to dazzle your taste buds, and make you feel like a professional at home.ā Recipe is below, let us know what you think!
Barrel - Aged Banana Boulevardier
slaps barrel* this baby has 30-40 cocktails in it and it gets better over time.
Iāve been meaning to do a barrel aged cocktail recipe for a while on here. There are so many benefits to barrel aging your cocktails instead of just batching (video coming soon!). But the true appeal is the mellowness that the oak brings to the [cocktail party]. Feel free to experiment with some of your favorite stirred cocktails but make sure not to use anything with citrus.
I kept this video pretty simple and didnāt use exact measurements, I figure using the actual bottles itself (full bottles + half bottles) would be more approachable and actually get yāall to do this at home. This recipe only fills up 3.6L of this 5L barrel so feel free to scale up to fill to the brim. Remember that smaller barrels have more surface area than the tradition 55 gallon barrels so this will age at a much faster rate (2-3 weeks should suffice), anything more than 2-3 months [if it lasts that long], should be transferred to a glass bottle.
If youāre looking for a barrel, check out the link on my bio site under ābar toolsā.
Cheers and happy barrel aging!
Pomme Brulee Old Fashioned
Itās about time we brĆ»lĆ©e some apples for an Old Fashioned.
We created an Old Fashioned thats sure to please this season. Flavors of cinnamon, caramelized sugar and apples play together perfectly with Rabbit Holeās Dareringer bourbon, which is finished with PX sherry casks and has notes of oak, dried fruit and caramel.
This is one you need to make.
Cheers yāall!

It feels to get back to playing around with some basic cocktails but also playing around with some new video styles. Iām going to start to make a new Reel series and Iām trying to land on the format, would love to hear yāalls thoughts on this style (look/feel, music, voiceover, titles, etc). Let me know what else youād want to see.

The Plainview Sour
Hey you! Looking for that crushable fall/winter cocktail?
Together with my friends at Watkins1868, Iāve created a bitter twist on a whiskey sour which uses their new all-natural Orange Bitters which have rich and warm notes of citrus, clove and cinnamon. I thought these flavor profiles would pair well with the season and would be perfect for sipping this fall and winter.
The Jenkins
Nothing better to do during tropical storm #hermine? May as well experiment with Matcha... This makes it healthy right?
Mare-ly Perfect Ride
Mare-ly Perfect Ride by Caroline Woodruff
This idea comes from a Paddock, which is an area for horses to graze in after a big day. I wanted to really show off saddled leather and grassy notes from a split of dry vermouth for my take on a Boulevardier. Itās easily one of my favorite cocktails to have many adaptations of, this one is a bit lighter, while the bitters let it run in a different strong direction.
The Cherry Spelling Bee
Let's be honest... luxardousa maraschino cherries are like the icing on a bourbon cocktail cake ššø

Hope yāall are staying healthy! For those of you cooped up at home and have been asking for some easy cocktail recipes, I have some exciting news! In this five part series which Iām dubbing #CocktailsAtHome, each mixologist will be creating a bourbon cocktail from scratch that you can easily recreate at home. Now letās get started shall we?
ā
First up on this series is Anna Lazaridis (@annathegreek83) of Charleston, SC with a classic Brown Derby cocktail, its strong, tart, and sweet - or as Anna puts it: āWith the sweetness of the honey and the tartness of the grapefruit, the Brown Derby is an excellent example of a simply well balanced cocktail. I incorporated thyme into the honey because we seem to have a lot of that on our handsšā #pungamešŖš¼
Chiseled Grin
