The Bucco Bruce Creamsicle
In honor of #SuperBowlLV - Here’s a tribute to the buccaneers throwback “Creamscicle” uniforms. Widely regarded as the ugliest uniforms in the NFL, I LOVED these growing up, as a Bucs fan living in Orlando, FL. So who are we rooting for tonight??
Globetrotter🌎
Ok, so I’ll admit I was a big btparsons fan before, but I had the honor of taking his Amaro class at BenConCHS and was completely blown away. Luckily, Charleston, SC was a stop on his ‘Amaro’ book tour and I had the opportunity to pick his brain (again) at edmundsoast while he was in town. He was knowledgeable, down-to-earth and one of the coolest authors I’ve had the honor of meeting. This cocktail recipe is a from his book ‘Amaro’ — definitely worth the pickup, even if its not personally signed like my copy 😉
The Greenpoint
I promised cocktails from katherinebrasserie at the gorgeous kimpton@thecardinalws in Winston-Salem, NC - so here’s the first! Its a great balance of sweet, herbal and spicy. The Old Overholt Rye plays nicely with the Carpano Antica and Yellow Chartreuse to create a sturdy, complex cocktail.
Piña Colada Milk Punch
🍹Do you like Piña Coladas but hate getting caught in the rain?🍍Well read on below...
.
Sorry I've been a bit MIA lately, I was a little sick but finally feeling well enough to do some experimenting today after reading a couple articles on punch_drink.
.
Let me introduce you to a Clarified Milk Punch, the scalded milk coagulates with the citric acid in the cocktail and strained through a fine sieve to produce the clearest cocktail you've ever seen. Believe it or not, there's actually an ice cube in this viskistyle rocks glass 😉🥃💎
Rabbit out of the Hat
Well’p, if y’all have been following along, you know that two of my favorite things are a stiff Boulevardier and coming up with twists on a classic. This one is no different, the herbal notes of Chartreuse with the addition of grapefruit bitters takes the place of Campari in a funky yet delicious variation. Give it a shot.
The Old Cuban
Recently had a chance to check out the gorgeous victorsocialclub and try their Cuban-inspired cocktail menu. They also were kind enough to provide their cocktail recipe for the Old Cuban!
The Health Kick
I'm always inspired by a couple of you instagram mixologists to create something a little more fun than the typical bourbon-centric cocktail y’all have been so used to seeing. A couple months ago, local kombucha maker, Jonathan Cox, over at onelovekombucha invited me and my wife over to their ‘brewery’ to see the process and try a couple of flavors he had been working on. When I tried this hibiscus/ginger variety, I instantly knew it would be great in a bright summer cocktail. Combined with a butterfly pea flower ice sphere (ahem… thanks for the idea @shesmegnificent), here’s my attempt at a kombucha cocktail.
Salty Summer
IT HAPPENED! I’m so stoked announce my very first canned cocktail collaboration with my good buddies over at dapschs! For the first time ever, you’ll be able to physically take home a cocktail pictured here. Dubbed ‘SALTY SUMMER’ - This cocktail is a hybrid between a Spritz, Gose, Negroni Sbagliato and a Salty Dog (ingredients below) and contains TWO servings per can. Its got a grapefruit-y spritz element with a touch of local sea salt that is perfect for a hot summer day under the sun.
The Deano
Last but certainly not least — Cocktail #3 for the holycityhandcraft // brothersandcraft holiday social tonight plays on our Christmas season heartstrings. Made with local stripedpigdistillery spiced rum, the fall spices infused into the rum lends itself well to this festive, tiki-inspired cocktail.
Bourbon Milk Punch
Hey everyone! Tune in tomorrow morning on Charleston’s very own lowcountrylive on abcnews4. I’ll be making a couple of holiday cocktails LIVE on-air, including this Bourbon Milk Punch, it’ll be your new favorite dessert cocktail. Check out the recipe on http://holycityhandcraft.com (Link in bio)
Hat Trick Shrub
Thanks to our good friends over at queencitycocktails, we've been doing a bit of tinkering with our anovaculinary sous vide cooker. On the docket tonight is a homemade sage, ginger, blackberry and black pepper shrub. The sweetness of the berries and demerara balances perfectly with the spiciness of the ginger and black pepper, as well as the tartness of the apple cider vinegar. Check out the recipe below! 👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾
The Peach Tea Smash
If you haven't already... Check out my takeover at the jackrudycocktailco account! I'm sharing some of my favorite cocktails and maybe even posting a video or two tonight
Basil Cucumber Lemonade
Weekend vibes from @thevictorsocialclub - it's a gorgeous Saturday in Charleston today y'all, get out there and enjoy it!
The Five Amigos
The weekend is coming!
Savor the smokey allure of Mezcal, a spirited choice for your next adventure.
Cheers y’all!
Ube Daiquiri
Another Filipino-inspired recipe for your feed 🇵🇭
Daiquiris have a special place in my heart, but not as much as the flavors of ube and calamansi. These two ingredients are staples in Filipino culture. When I was growing up in the Philippines, the go-to citrus wasn’t lemon or lime, it was calamansi. If you havent had it before, think of it as a cross between an orange, kumquat, and lime. Heavily citrusy with a sour back-end. Together with an Agricole from my friends at @highwirechs and a funky Jamaican rum from @hampdenestaterum - this recipe was a winner. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Cheers y’all.
The Charred Grapefruit Spritz
Movie night with the fam. Homemade Maple New York Sours seemed appropriate.
The Breakfast Club Flip
Can we fit an entire breakfast in a cocktail? 🧇🥃🍳
My friends over at whistlepigwhiskey sent over a kit of rye waffle mix, their barrel aged maple syrup and their Piggyback Rye, complete with a waffle maker! To be quite honest, I can’t think of anything better to pair with waffles than their ridiculously good maple syrup, aged in their own whiskey barrels. But it got me thinking, how can we incorporate all of the above into a cocktail. Well… the answer is below.
If you’ve never had a “flip” style cocktail - don’t be scared, it uses a WHOLE egg instead of just egg whites to create a rich, velvety texture to the drink (think egg nog), while providing a creamy, frothy head to accentuate the flavors in the cocktail - this one is no exception. The maple syrup plays beautifully with the rye whiskey and rye waffle in this. The egg just adds that extra layer for rich texture making for your new favorite breakfast cocktail.
