Upside-Down Juice
Ok hear me out… Pineapple upside-down cake… but a cocktail 🤯
In honor of #NationalVodkaDay, I’ve teamed up with my friends at weberranchvodka to make a cocktail that I swear tastes almost exactly like a caramel-y pineapple upside-down cake. The secret is all in this “Upside Down” juice which was inspired by this respetoagave syrup that was recently shared with me. Respeto is made from mature agaves that are slow cooked in hornos (ovens) then crushed using a tahona, bringing out that deep/rich caramel notes that you’d only find at a hacienda in Mexico. When mixed with spices, pineapple and smoked sea salt, you have something thats sweet, fruity, savory and surprisingly balanced.
Comment “JUICE” and I’ll send you the exact recipe I used here.
This mix is then simply shaken with one of my favorite vodkas recently in Weber Ranch (also made from 100% agave) which produces a delicious, rich cocktail with a natural foam from the agave and pineapple. Give this one a shot, you’ll love it.
Cheers and happy national vodka day, y’all!
Mulled Cider Rum Fashioned
Warm, spiced, and spirit-forward — the Mulled Cider Rum Fashioned brings cozy holiday vibes to a timeless classic. Aged rum and pimento dram provide depth and warmth, while the spiced cider syrup and orange bitters tie it together with a fragrant seasonal twist. Cheers, y'all!
Up in Smoke Maple Sour
Puff puff, pass on the alcohol this month and try this instead…
#ad21+ Together with my friends at @the_highpour, I created a fall-inspired, zero-proof drink that is crushable and absolutely delicious. If you haven’t heard of it, HIGHPOUR is a new kind of non-alcoholic “spirit” thats infused with hemp-derived 🍃 and can be utilized the same way spirits are utilized in cocktails 1:1. For this particular recipe, I played on the smoke and autumn theme, I used a smoked maple syrup and smoked salt to accentuate the flavors in Highpour making for the perfect drink to sip this season.
Cheers y’all.
Border Town
Throwing it back to this zesty shot with my friends at hennessy.
If you haven’t already - make sure to check out my IG stories and get a sneak peek at this year’s limited edition bottle of VSOP in collaboration with refikanadol - there’s a couple goodies in there that I’m excited to play around with! Let me know what y’all think.
Rhum Raisin Hot Toddy
Raise your hand if you already got the flu or norovirus this year 🙋🏾♂️
Not saying a hot toddy is a remedy but it sure as heck doesn’t hurt. Everyone already knows r(h)um and raisins go well together so why not add that element to a traditional hot toddy. I’ve been on this train since my friend wheninrhum suggested I use arhumatic for my next toddy and now I don’t know if I can ever go back to just regular rum.
Also shoutout to the sonyalpha team for my sick/editing robe. The comfiest ever from sunday.citizen.
Cheers y’all.
Coquito Colada
It’s #NationalCoquitoDay tomorrow so let’s get you prepared! #ad
What happens when you combine TWO of Puerto Rico’s most iconic cocktails? The Piña Colada is arguably Puerto Rico’s most famous contribution to the cocktail world. Created sometime during the 1950s, its exact origins are often debated. But we’d all be remiss if the infamous Coquito didn’t enter the conversation, which origin is ubiquitous with Puerto Rican culture - after all, there’s an entire DAY dedicated to this iconic drink. I think we can all agree the best version is made with Puerto Rico’s legendary rum, Ron del Barrilito.
Cheers y’all.
The Winter Coat
Bundle up, and grab your winter coat.
#ad Together with my friends at licor43usa, I’ve created a cocktail thats perfect for the season. It’s inspired by a creme brûlée and it just so happens that #Licor43 makes a `Creme Brûlée’ flavor as part of their indulgence trio lineup (other flavors include Horchata and Chocolate). This cocktail combines winter spices with bourbon and is then topped with caramelized sugar sitting atop an egg white foam.
Cheers y’all.
The Strangest Thing
What better way to combine two things I love (craft cocktails and strangerthingstv) than the #StrangerThingsAB cocktail contest held by my dudes apartment_bartender and @keifermadness. Inspiration comes from THE UPSIDE DOWN and a bit of that fall flavor all is basic girls love 💁🏻
.
Cheers y’all, make sure to tune into Season 2 of Stranger Things on netflix TOMORROW!
Pomme Brulee Old Fashioned
It’s about time we brûlée some apples for an Old Fashioned.
We created an Old Fashioned thats sure to please this season. Flavors of cinnamon, caramelized sugar and apples play together perfectly with Rabbit Hole’s Dareringer bourbon, which is finished with PX sherry casks and has notes of oak, dried fruit and caramel.
This is one you need to make.
Cheers y’all!
Frozen Honey Painkiller
Who needs fireworks anyway? 🔥
Happy #FourthOfJuly friends! Got a confession - frozen tiki drinks are a guilty pleasure of mine, but who doesn’t love them, amirite? This one is a little more involved but I promise it’s well worth it. The recipe below is for 2 servings, but feel free to scale up at your leisure :)
This one combines 3 types of rum with some pineapple and coconut with a little cinnamon fire for dramatic effect… oh and it’s definitely not a regular Painkiller™ ;)
Cheers y’all!
Striped Pumpkin Pie
Here’s another Thanksgiving cocktail for y’all… and here’s to hoping your bellies are as full as your hearts as you spend this time with your family and friends.
Cinnamon Toast Milk Punch
Let’s try this again, shall we? 🥣
Cinnamon Toast Crunch… but make it drinkable.
Who doesn’t love CTC?? I figured it would be fun to try to recreate it into cocktail. I’m going to make two versions and this is the first rendition - a traditional milk punch with actual cream. The addition of biscotti liqueur here adds that sweet bread flavor that you typically get from French toast so I figured it would be fitting… and guess it what, it actually works. Give this one a try…
Anyone have any guesses on the second version of this cocktail??
Maple Radler
Whoa… you feel that chill in the air? That can only mean one thing…
IT’S. FALL. Y’ALL
Combining the #ChampagneOfBeers with the flavors bourbon, maple, cinnamon and lemon to create a fall Radler that is perfect for the season. Give this recipe a try this season and let us know what you think below!
Cheers y’all!
The Firestorm
Ooooo… it’s #spookyszn and we’ve got a doozy for you.
We created a recipe thats perfect not just for #halloween2022 but the rest of the holiday season as well. Using QMixers delicious and well-balanced ginger beer along with some black rum, this riff on a classic has a secret weapon in the homemade pumpkin spice tincture (recipe below). The cinnamon and fire bring just another complex element to this cocktail but it is entirely optional. Cheers y’all!
The Bucco Bruce Creamsicle
In honor of #SuperBowlLV - Here’s a tribute to the @buccaneers throwback “Creamscicle” uniforms. Widely regarded as the ugliest uniforms in the NFL, I LOVED these growing up, as a Bucs fan living in Orlando, FL. So who are we rooting for tonight??
The Deano
Last but certainly not least — Cocktail #3 for the @holycityhandcraft // @brothersandcraft holiday social tonight plays on our Christmas season heartstrings. Made with local @stripedpigdistillery spiced rum, the fall spices infused into the rum lends itself well to this festive, tiki-inspired cocktail.
The Early Bird
Just because #CincoDeMayo is over doesn’t mean these tequila cocktails have to stop…
Mulled Cider Old Fashioned
You know when you create a recipe and you know it’s going to be a staple during the holidays? Yeah… this is it. I’ve melded the flavors of a traditional mulled cider together with a classic Old Fashioned. The result is a bourbon forward holiday sipper that you’ll want to keep sipping throughout the rest of the holiday season. You’re going to want to try this one out for sure, cheers y’all
Wintered Amaro Sour
Let’s keep those seasonal cocktails going, shall we?
Together with amarolucano1894, I’ve created a recipe thats sure to warm you right up in the coldest of nights. The recipe combines bourbon, cinnamon syrup, lemon juice and the bold flavors in Amaro Lucano to create a wonderfully balanced flavor that is softened by an egg white (or aquafaba) foam. This one was a treat to make and drink and hope you’ll do the same. Cheers y’all.
